Liz: It’s raining out! I’m wet through and I need to change. Present (Present Continuous) Действие, происходящее в момент речи.
Liz: I can’t find my red jumper... Never mind, I will wear this hoodie instead. Present / Future (can't find — Present Simple, will wear — Future Simple) can’t find — Настоящее (результат). will wear — Будущее (спонтанное решение).
Mum: When are you going to be back? Future (Present Continuous / going to structure) Запланированное действие в будущем.
Liz: I don’t really know, Mum. If it keeps raining, I will come back as soon as we have completed the presentation. Future (Present Simple for condition, Future Simple for main clause) Действия в будущем (условие и результат).
Liz: And if it clears up, we can have a walk afterwards. Future (Present Simple for condition, can have — Future) Действия в будущем (условие и возможность).

39. Remember that we use Present Continuous to express the future when we speak about our plans. Compare the following. (Запомни, что мы используем Present Continuous для выражения будущего, когда говорим о наших планах. Сравни следующее.)
Present Continuous (Настоящее продолженное) Future Simple (Простое будущее)
Sorry, but I cannot go on the picnic with you. I’m shopping for clothes with my elder sister on Saturday. (Извини, но я не могу пойти с тобой на пикник. Я иду за одеждой со своей старшей сестрой в субботу.) I have this weekend absolutely free. I think I’ll shop for clothes with my elder sister on Saturday. (У меня эти выходные абсолютно свободны. Я думаю, я куплю одежду со своей старшей сестрой в субботу.)
It means that I have already planned it for Saturday, my sister knows about it and is expecting me to go with her. (Это означает, что я уже запланировал это на субботу, моя сестра знает об этом и ждет, что я пойду с ней.) It means that this is not my plan but the present moment decision. My sister doesn’t know anything about it yet, and she may refuse to take me with her. (Это означает, что это не мой план, а решение, принятое в данный момент. Моя сестра еще ничего об этом не знает, и она может отказаться взять меня с собой.)
I’m taking my exam on Monday. I feel so nervous. (Я сдаю экзамен в понедельник. Я очень нервничаю.) I don’t worry at all. I’m sure I will pass it. I know the subject perfectly. (Я совсем не волнуюсь. Я уверен, что сдам его. Я отлично знаю предмет.)
It means that taking the exam is in my plans for a certain time on Monday. (Это означает, что сдача экзамена входит в мои планы на определенное время в понедельник.) It means that I can’t plan it, but I think it will happen in the future. (Это означает, что я не могу это запланировать, но думаю, что это произойдет в будущем.)

Комментарий: will show — обещание (Future Simple). will enjoy — предсказание, мнение (Future Simple).

  1. I don't think I will have any free time this weekend. My sister will get married / is getting married and I can't miss the ceremony.

Правильный ответ: My sister is getting married and I can't miss the ceremony. (Моя сестра выходит замуж...)

Комментарий: Бракосочетание — это запланированное, организованное событие, поэтому используется Present Continuous.
