Yes, I strongly believe that history is an incredibly exciting and essential subject. It’s like being a detective, trying to piece together the long-lost remains of the past and understand the complex reasons behind the historic decisions that affected entire generations.

Information about historic events is available from many sources. Historically, it was passed on by word of mouth and recorded in ancient books and manuscripts kept by scholars, priests, and monks. Today, we get data from vast sources: historical documents, archeological sites (through the work of archeologists), museums, digital media, and contemporary research. Modern historians use efficient methods and technology to constantly record and analyze facts.

History teaches us that progress is gradually achieved and built upon the foundations laid by previous generations. It gives us a sense of context. We learn about the heroic deeds of individuals like Abraham Lincoln who abolished slavery, and innovators like Leonardo da Vinci whose work was centuries ahead of his time. History is beneficial because it shows us:

5. The causes and effects of human actions: We can be aware of the consequences of rapid technological change or political instability.

Unfortunately, history shows that mankind does not always learn its lessons. As the saying goes, "Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it." We still see conflicts driven by territorial disputes or ideological differences, similar to those that led to the devastating World Wars. . For example, the creation of nuclear weapons after the Second World War proves that we sometimes prioritize power over peace. However, we have the opportunity to choose differently, and the increasing global cooperation (like the signing of the INF Treaty in 1987) shows that we can choose a better future.
