Speaking (Говорение): I practised expressing emphatic ideas using the verb "do" (Я практиковал выражение эмфатических идей с помощью глагола "do"), giving advice using "should/ought to" (дачу советов с помощью "should/ought to") and discussing controversial problems (обсуждение спорных проблем), such as genetic engineering.

Reading (Чтение): I practised reading comprehension of scientific texts (Я практиковал понимание научных текстов), for example, about Virtual Reality and the story "The Surgeon" (например, о Виртуальной Реальности и рассказ «Хирург»), and I learned new vocabulary related to science and computers.

Writing (Письмо): I practised writing arguments (Я практиковал написание аргументов) for and against modern technology (за и против современных технологий) and completing grammar exercises (выполнение грамматических упражнений) on modal verbs and adverbs.

Listening Comprehension (Аудирование): I practised listening comprehension of factual information (Я практиковал понимание на слух фактической информации) about scientists (listening to the recording about Alexander Bell) and dialogues (аудирование диалогов), although I could not listen to all the recordings.

I can see my progress mostly in vocabulary (Я вижу свой прогресс в основном в словарном запасе), especially in being able to use words like "hybrid" (гибрид), "advantage" (преимущество), and "insist" (настаивать). I also feel more confident in using modal verbs (Я также чувствую себя более уверенно в использовании модальных глаголов) like must, have to, and should to express necessity and advice correctly.

My main problem is listening comprehension (Моя главная проблема — это понимание на слух), especially when the speaker talks fast. (особенно когда говорящий говорит быстро.) I also sometimes forget the correct placement of adverbs of frequency (Я также иногда забываю правильное место наречий частоты) in complex sentences. I am going to work on this by listening to more English podcasts (Я собираюсь работать над этим, слушая больше английских подкастов) and writing down new rules about adverbs in my grammar notebook.

I enjoyed doing mostly (Мне больше всего понравилось) the reading and discussion tasks (задания на чтение и обсуждение), especially talking about Virtual Reality and robots (особенно говорить о Виртуальной Реальности и роботах) because the topics were modern and interesting. I enjoyed doing least of all (Мне меньше всего понравилось) matching the long lists of technical vocabulary (сопоставление длинных списков технической лексики) and some of the routine grammar drills.
