I am writing in response to the article in the Halford Herald on Wednesday about the recent increase in vandalism and graffiti in the High Street. In my opinion, this is a very serious issue that makes the town centre look neglected and unattractive. (Я пишу в ответ на статью о недавнем росте вандализма и граффити на Хай-Стрит. По моему мнению, это очень серьезная проблема, которая делает центр города заброшенным и непривлекательным.)

Firstly, the local council should make sure that all damaged walls and buildings are cleaned and repaired immediately. As a result, the town will look better, and the vandals will not feel encouraged to do it again. (* Во-первых, местный совет должен обеспечить немедленную очистку и ремонт всех поврежденных стен и зданий. В результате город будет выглядеть лучше, и вандалы не почувствуют побуждения делать это снова.*)

Furthermore, the police must increase the amount of foot patrol in the High Street, especially after dark. Consequently, this will discourage criminals and reduce the number of crimes committed.
