People often think that animals are born with instincts and naturally know the rules of (SURVIVE). However, this is not entirely correct. Animals rely (HEAVY) on their mothers, especially when they are young, to teach them to be skillful. But what happens when they don't have mothers? For many baby orangutans in Borneo, this is a huge issue. Young orangutans are similar to human babies because they stay with their mothers for a long time. They learn many skills from their mothers before they become (DEPEND) and can live on their own. Unfortunately, many orangutans are dying in Borneo because people are cutting down the forests where they live. Babies are losing their mothers, making it very difficult for them to survive. The International Animal Rescue (ORGANISE) works to help them. Today in Borneo, there is a special school for orphaned baby orangutans! Volunteers teach them different things they need to know. At Baby School, they learn how to climb trees, what foods to eat, and how to build nests to sleep safely. The good students advance to Forest School, and later they return to the jungles. Humans may not be the same as mother orangutans, but they give these lovely babies a real chance to survive.
