Past Simple употребляется с завершённым временем в прошлом: two hours ago, last month, yesterday, in 2015, last weekend, ten minutes ago. Present Perfect употребляется, когда важен результат сейчас или период ещё связан с настоящим: just, yet, already, ever, never, since.
