• Civilian Conservation Corps (C.C.C.)-1933
• This program hired single young men between the ages of 18-25 to work in the forests and national parks. These young men lived in camps near their jobs, and the majority of the money they made was sent straight home to their families. It not only made national parks and woodlands more beautiful, but it helped support the families of the young men who were hired.
