Maria Skłodowska-Curie was born in Warsaw, Poland, in 1867. She attended the Sorbonne University in Paris. In 1895, she married Pierre Curie. Together, Maria and Pierre Curie discovered radium. She received two Nobel Prizes. During World War I, she trained nurses to X-ray people. Maria Skłodowska-Curie died in Paris in 1934.
